Welcome To The Quiet Library

Welcome to The Quiet Library: a growing collection of guided attunements, reflections, support sheets and journaling prompts from The Quiet Space circles.

There is no order to follow and nothing to catch up on. You can begin with the theme that speaks to you, return to an earlier circle, or simply choose what feels most supportive today. Circles are added in chronological order.

March:

Rigidity

A gentle guided attunement for noticing where tension, control or self-protection may have hardened into rigidity.

Rigidity invites you to soften without losing your sense of safety or strength. Through breath, reflection and quiet awareness, this practice supports greater flexibility, responsiveness and trust in your ability to meet life without bracing against it.

Reflection: Rigidity

Where in my life might a little more softness be possible now?

It came from noticing a small moment this morning, on my birthday. Lucie told me, “Stay in your room; don’t come downstairs until I tell you.” She was clearly planning something kind.

Part of me felt cared for. It felt good.

But another part of me became restless. Slightly irritated. I wanted to get up, get on, take control of the morning. I noticed how quickly my system tightened.

In that moment I recognised something familiar; a rigidity I learned growing up. A tightening of the reins. A reluctance to soften enough to let someone else take the lead.

But I also felt something else.

A softening.

I realised I could meet that rigidity with compassion. I am allowed to be taken care of. I can allow others to express love in ways that feel natural to them.

It also made me reflect on the rigidity I sometimes experience in my relationship with Nick. That sense of something fixed or unmoving between us.

But these moments remind me that rigidity rarely lives only “out there”. It lives in us too.

And when we notice it; in the body, in our reactions, in the small everyday moments, something begins to shift.

Many of our rigid places were formed through protection. Through the attempt to keep things safe or under control.

But real change often begins when we loosen that grip just enough to see things differently.

This week we simply ask:

Where might rigidity be shaping my life; and what happens when I meet it with compassion?

Stability through Containment

A gentle guided attunement for creating a deeper sense of steadiness through supportive structure, clear boundaries and self-trust.

Stability through Containment invites you to notice what helps you feel held without feeling restricted. Through breath, reflection and quiet awareness, this practice supports greater calm, grounded and the inner safety needed to remain present with yourself.

Reflection: Stability through Containment

You don’t need intensity. you need rhythm.

During my theme of pressure, I realised something uncomfortable:

Perfection was my stabiliser. Proving was my structure. And when that loosened, I felt raw.

I saw how much energy I burn trying to stabilise things that didn’t need destabilising in the first place. Living in reaction creates pressure that then requires containment.

But when steadiness becomes the baseline, there’s less to contain. My body finds the rhythm first. Then my mind catches up. My system is learning that activation doesn’t equal collapse. Security doesn’t come from financial intensity or fixing others. It comes from internal steadiness.

And yet my old wiring still whispers: “If you stop pushing, everything will fall apart.” Instead, I feel called inward. Chrysalis energy: slower, deliberate, aligned. If I protect the right things, the rest reorganises.

Containment, for me, looks like:

  • Guarding my energy.

  • Containing scattered focus.

  • Interrupting mental spirals.

  • Holding paradox instead of reacting to it.

Stabilising the core stabilises my energy. And each contained moment builds new evidence of self-trust.

In the middle of huge change and uncertainty, this feels like the most stabilising foundation of all.

February:

Pressure

A gentle guided attunement for noticing the pressure you may be carrying—from expectations, urgency or the belief that you must keep pushing.

Pressure invites you to pause, soften the demand for immediate answers and create space around what feels compressed within you. Through breath, reflection and quiet awareness, this practice supports greater ease, perspective and a more compassionate way of moving forward.

Reflection: Pressure

Pressure doesn’t require a response. i choose my move

’ve been sitting with pressure since this weekend.

Not external pressure, the internal spike that comes when responsibility rises or harmony dips.

I feel the urge to restore things quickly. That urge is old wiring.

Atmosphere fluctuates. I don’t have to.

In my old pattern, the mood dipped and I intervened. I restored harmony. I felt useful.

The tension remained.

In my new pattern, the mood dips and I stay steady. It passes.

The tension reduces.

My growth edge right now is release, not effort.

Usefulness is addictive!

For years I organised myself around urgency.

Now I’m organising around capacity.

For ‘high-capacity women’, non-intervention can feel harder than action.

But when I stopped managing my body, I found joy.

When I stopped fixing moods, I found peace.

Pressure doesn’t require a response. I choose my move.
